Surprised to find my first post to be titled after a cholesterol lowering drug name that helps reduce the chance of heart attacks and strokes. It acts as a HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statins), which made me excited and sad at the same time. I thought of biochem when I read its function, but sadden me when I realize I had forgotten how cholesterol was made. I am determined to dive back into my books and figure this out.
That's so deep Alena! Why does HMG-CoA make you sad and excited at the same time?
